A Luxurious Escape Awaits At Oriundo Hotel

Updated: Feb 11

Five minutes from the historic city of Valladolid, between Cancún and Mérida, Oriundo Hotel emerges as a true gem, promising an enchanting retreat that seamlessly blends opulence with tranquility. From the moment you step through its doors, you are transported into a world where impeccable service, sophisticated design, and unparalleled comfort come together in a symphony of luxury.

Accommodation

The resort is made up of twelve exclusive villas. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. The grounds are bathed in soft lighting thanks to the efforts made into preserving the surrounding forest. The decor's inspired by the greatness of the Mayan civilisation and its legacy in today's culture. The plush furnishings, luxurious linens, and thoughtfully placed amenities contribute to an atmosphere of absolute comfort and sophistication.

Dining Experience At Mestizo

Dining at Mestizo is a culinary journey that tantalises the taste buds. The hotel's restaurant showcase a diverse array of Yucatán delights. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also request an exclusive dining experience for two at Saamal Cenote. Yes! You heard it right, upon request they will privatise the nearby cenote for a candlelit dinner, be sure to book in advance!

Service Excellence

What I loved most about my stay beyond the luxurious ambiance was the commitment to service excellence. Keep in mind the staff is only a Whatsapp away. Also, reception will send you a pre-check-in checklist which comes in exceedingly handy. It's more than a form; it's your key to a seamless start. From room preferences to special requests, this checklist ensures your stay aligns perfectly with your expectations.

Hacienda Selva Maya

The nearby Hacienda Selva Maya is a tourist attraction nestled in the Mayan forest surrounding Valladolid. The facilities included a few dining options from traditional food stalls to a restaurant, a zip-line and the Saamal Cenote. It attracts throngs of tourists during the day but keep in mind, the cenote's open to hotel guests only from 8am to 9am. And yes, I did do the zip-lining, against my will I may add but it was hell of a lot of fun!

How To Get To Oriundo Hotel

I flew from Mexico City to Cancún. After a few days in Cancún, I took an Ado bus from Cancún to Valladolid. Right by the exit of the bus station in Valladolid, you have a taxi stand with the nicest taxis I've seen so far, it's a 5-10 minute drive to Oriundo Hotel. I plan to stay two weeks visiting the Riviera Maya, check out below my full itinerary:
