Valladolid's Urban Oasis

Updated: Feb 11

Nestled in the heart of Valladolid, my stay at Olbil Hotel was nothing short of a fairytale. Situated on one of the bustling main streets, yet wrapped in tranquility, this charming boutique hotel emerges as Valladolid's Urban Oasis—a serene refuge seamlessly woven into the lively fabric of the city, providing a peaceful haven in close proximity to the town's prime attractions.

Valladolid's Urban Oasis

Soft lighting, fragrant flowers, and a hint of soothing music in the air set the stage for an unforgettable relaxing retreat. While the room embodies the quintessential charm of a boutique hotel, its decor is uniquely adorned with local influences, evident in details such as the intricately tiled bathroom walls, thoughtfully placed ornaments, and a colour scheme that resonates with the surrounding culture.

Dining

Embarking on a gastronomic adventure at the hotel's intimate restaurant was a sensory delight. The menu serves as a beautiful homage to the couple who crafted the essence of the hotel, skilfully blending Yucatecan and Spanish culinary traditions. An enchanting option awaits those seeking a candlelit dinner experience at the back of the garden; just be sure to make a reservation beforehand.

Service

The staff at Olbil Hotel mastered the art of personalised pampering. From heartfelt recommendations guiding me through the must-see local spots to the delightful surprise of a fragrant bouquet of flowers gracing my room, every gesture reflects a genuine commitment to ensuring my comfort and satisfaction. It's this meticulous attention to detail, coupled with their warm and attentive approach, that not only made me feel right at home but elevated my stay to a level of unparalleled hospitality.

Valladolid City Centre

The hotel is conveniently located just a short stroll from Parque Principal Francisco Cantón Rosado. Within a mere two minutes, you'll discover one of Mexico's most charming streets, Calzada de los Frailes. This picturesque lane boasts vibrant walls and doorways that practically beg for a photographer's attention. Along the way, you'll encounter a delightful array of restaurants and cafes, as well as trendy boutique shops offering stylish clothing, accessories, and more.

How To Get There

I flew from Mexico City to Cancún. After a few days in Cancún, I took an Ado bus from Cancún to Valladolid. Right by the exit of the bus station in Valladolid, you have a taxi stand with the nicest taxis I've seen so far, it's a three minute ride to Olbil Hotel.
